I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and this blog is a place for me to share my thoughts on faith and my testimony of my savior, Jesus Christ. I went through a dark period in my life where I felt very alone. I questioned my worth as an individual and wondered if God had forgotten about me. However, as I have reached out to my Heavenly Father in earnest prayer, tried to follow my Savior’s example, and studied the scriptures, I have felt God’s love. I am working to draw closer to Him and deepen my faith. This blog is a way for me to organize my thoughts and share the inspiration I have found. I hope that this blog can inspire you and help you strengthen your faith.
I am not a stereotypical Mormon. I’m a child of divorced parents, I did not attend BYU, I don’t live in Utah, I’ve struggled with depression, I’m a single mom with one child, I don’t drive a minivan, I yell at my child more often than I want to admit, and I don’t have a single color coordinated photo of my family. What I do have is a deep love for my Savior and a desire to draw closer to Him and become more like Him.
I want this scripture to describe me:
“Nevertheless [she] did fast and pray oft, and did wax stronger and stronger in [her] humility, and firmer and firmer in the faith of Christ, unto the filling of [her] soul with joy and consolation, yea, even to the purifying and the sanctification of [her] heart, which sanctification cometh because of [her] yielding [her] heart unto God” -Helamen 3:35
